Our speech language pathologists work with children and their families to address gaps in communications skills to help them meet developmental milestones. Treatment may focus on receptive language (understanding what is said) or expressive language (communicating needs and thoughts) and social language (following non-verbal cues and relating to others). Intervention may also address the mechanics of producing sounds, speech sound patterns, articulation, fluency, and volume.
A licensed speech language pathologist will complete an initial evaluation to determine an individualized treatment plan for your child based on their needs. This initial evaluation requires an hour long session and includes a full report that will be sent to your referring doctor. If your child has had a recent evaluation within the last six months, we do not require a new evaluation to start therapy.
